I have never been a big news watcher so for me this video was very interesting because it shed light on current events while providing historical information as well. Some aspects of the video were shocking to me since I honestly have very little knowledge on what has been happening in Palestine. The presentation of how information is filtered through the media was particularly shocking to me. When I consider watching a news story, I had always felt confident that the story I am watching will be accurate information. After watching this video I will now consider those issue in the media while evaluating the true extent of the situation.
Coming into this course, I did not know what to expect. Not knowing the full extent of what is currently happening in the Middle East is not something I am proud of. I had hoped that this course would give me insight into what is actually happening in our world today, and after watching this video, I have already discovered many issues in the worlds economy, media, and foreign affairs that I had never knew existed. In particular, the amount of money the U.S. has given to the Israeli's over the years shocked me. I had no idea that America was funding their military to that extreme. I personally think, what has been going on in Palestine is barbaric and I was a little disappointed to learn of America's involvement in their war and of the efforts of the media to filter out certain aspects of the truth before a story can be covered in American news.

Good analytical way of thinking and understanding the video
ReplyDeleteI can relate to never really watching the news, I usually get caught up in my own world when I'm at school. This class has been really opening up my source of current events as well as an understanding for current disputes in the world. The video was really a good outlet for raising questions about all the Israeli, Palestine conflict and reasons through history that explain how the dispute began.
